Stuttgart24h
It's time to tickle your senses! What do you get if you combine a tripod, a wide angle lens, a spot-on soundtrack, a Canon EOS 1D Mark II, time-lapse photography and the city of Stuttgart, Germany? Well, something that I found pretty intriguing to watch.
Crank up your speakers, lean back and don't forget to click the full-screen link on the video to experience it in HD.

Polaroid SX-70 commercial
Can you tell I'm a bit of a Polaroid fan? When I was a kid I always wanted one, and watching this old commercial made me realize what I've missed. I mean hey... a foldable instant SLR with a huge mirror that flips up?
How awesome is THAT?

Junk Store Cameras
Yes, it might not be the best looking web site, but what an awesome collection of reviews of all those weird cameras that have come and gone over the years.
(shhhh, I have a thing for these cameras too)

Exposing the Invisible
Have you heard of Nick Veasey? He shoots pictures of a different kind, looking deeper than most other photographers do.
Or have you ever seen an x-ray of a Boeing 747 including the hangar?

Oldest Most Expensive Camera
Old and expensive things sometimes come from Germany. In this case it's the world's oldest commercially produced camera. It was made by Daguerre's brother-in-law and will be up for auction in May.
Any bidders?

How Photography Connects Us
Another TED video. This one is a talk and a presentation by David Griffin, photo director at National Geographic, talking about how we use our photos to tell our stories.
Great inspirational photography there.

Finding The Frozen Camera
Since I spent time in the Himalayas last year, my eyes automatically get drawn to headlines mentioning Mt. Everest. More so if these have to do with photography.
The search for the frozen camera up on Everest. It has been sitting there since 1924 and might still hold exposed film.

New York Public Library's Photos
Do not expect to skim over this within a few minutes. When I found this, I lost an entire afternoon. Just like that. It's the wonderful collection of photographs from the New York Public Library.
I'm just glad that as a photographer I have a good justification to look at pictures all day long ;)

In A Time Before CG
If your level of curiosity is anywhere near mine, you'll get a kick out of this. Okay, this is not purely about still photography, but it's a fascinating look behind the scenes of the creation of an HBO opener.
The amount of effort that went into this seems almost surreal from today's perspective. This would be completely done in the computer today. Probably even including the actors.

Photo Day Panorama
Okay okay, I had to sneak this one in. I had almost forgotten about this, when the other day it popped up in my inbox. Back in summer last year I interviewed panoramic photographer Ron Pepper while conducting the Photo Day in the TWiT Cottage in California.
During the interview Ron shot a panorama and if you were ever interested in what the TWiT Studio looks like behind the scenes, this one will let you pan and zoom around to your heart's content. And for added excitement you can watch the video of how this panorama photo was created too.
