With the RED One camera, RED has managed to not only change part of the industry, they have also set out to revolutionize the still-/video market with some of their upcoming offers. One of them is the RED Scarlett, a modular video camera that is on the horizon.

    Light-painting robot

Ever tried your hands at light painting? Here's a cute robot that does it for you with precision.

The biggest photo in the world

If you're a pixel counter, this one's for you: The 26 GigaPixel image of Dresden, Germany. Pretty impressive the things you can discover by zooming all the way in.

Polaroid is dead? I don't think so!

Yes, Polaroid is bringing out new cameras. Analog. And with a new (but still somewhat traditional) design. Who would've thought?

    Richard Feynman about Light

I'm a great fan of Richard Feynman. The way he explains things is just wonderful. Here's a video where he talks about light. And waves. And Radio Moscow.

    Compression art-efacts?

Here's one for the geeks among you: Jörg M. Colberg rewrote the JPG compression algorithm to introduce pixelation in certain less changing areas and created a series of images that he calls "American PIxels". Strangely compelling.

    Privacy and the Google van

This one made me chuckle. Great geeky t-shirt in case you get photographed by the Google van. Not sure Googlebot is smart enough to follow the instructions on that t-shirt though.

    I love Zeppelins

Here's an interesting photograph I ran across a while ago. And I keep coming back to it. Maybe it is because the photographer really managed to show the hugeness of the air ship by giving it context, or maybe it's just because I'm a sucker for behind-the-scenes stuff.
